By downloading, installing, or using the eatamame application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
These Terms apply to all users of the App, including users of the free trial and subscribers to the paid plan.
By using the App, you also acknowledge that you have read and understood our Privacy Policy.
eatamame is a food education application that helps you build healthier eating habits. You can describe or photograph your meals and receive an AI-powered health score, nutritional estimates, personalized tips, and badges to guide you toward better food choices.

3.1 How to Create an Account
To use eatamame, you must create an account using one of the following authentication methods: Google Sign-in or Apple Sign-in.
Authentication is handled entirely by Google or Apple — no password is stored by eatamame.
3.2 Account Responsibility
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google or Apple account, all activities that occur under your eatamame account, and notifying us at team@eatamame.com if you suspect unauthorized access.
3.3 One Account Per Person
Each person may maintain only one eatamame account. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent free trial or usage limits is not permitted.
3.4 Age
The App is intended for users aged 13 and older. Users under 13 must have parental or guardian consent to use the App.
Ownership: All content you create and save in eatamame (meal descriptions, notes) remains your property. eatamame does not claim ownership of your content.
License: By using the App, you grant eatamame a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, process, and transmit your content solely to provide you with the service. This license terminates when you delete the content or your account.
Storage: Your meal data is stored in Firebase Firestore (europe-west1, Belgium). Photos and audio recordings are uploaded to a temporary location, sent to our AI backend, and permanently deleted immediately after analysis — no media files are ever retained.
Responsibility: You are solely responsible for the content you submit. You agree not to submit content that violates applicable laws, infringes intellectual property rights, or contains harmful material.
5.1 How the AI Works
eatamame uses Google Gemini AI (Gemini 2.5 Flash Lite) to analyze your meals via text, photo, or audio. The AI returns a health score (1–10), nutritional estimates, badges, a personalized tip, and a meal analysis.
5.2 AI Limitations and Disclaimer
The AI analysis is provided for informational and educational purposes only. eatamame does not provide medical, dietary, or nutritional advice.
If you have specific dietary needs, food allergies, or health conditions, always consult a qualified healthcare professional.
5.3 Fair Usage Limits

Limits reset daily at midnight UTC, weekly on Monday, monthly on the 1st. Attempts to circumvent these limits violate these Terms and may result in account suspension.
5.4 Photo and Audio Processing
When you submit a photo or audio recording, the file is temporarily uploaded to our secure servers, sent to Google Gemini AI for processing, and permanently and automatically deleted immediately after the analysis. The original file is never stored, retained, or shared by eatamame.
Free Trial: eatamame offers a free trial with full access to premium features. The duration is displayed in the App at registration. No payment is required during the trial, but payment information may be collected by Apple or Google for automatic conversion at trial end.
eatamame Pro: A paid subscription providing continued full access to all premium features after the trial ends.
Pricing: Subscription prices are displayed in the App before purchase and may vary by country. All prices include applicable taxes.
Billing and Renewal
How to Cancel
Canceling stops future renewals. You retain access until the end of the current billing period.
Refunds: Payments are processed through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. All refund requests are governed by the respective store policies. eatamame does not directly process refunds.
Account Deletion with Active Subscription: If you delete your account while a subscription is active, the subscription will not be automatically canceled — you must cancel it separately. No refund will be issued for the remaining period.
You agree to use the App in compliance with applicable laws and these Terms. In particular, you agree not to:
The name "eatamame," the logo, the App's graphical design, source code, algorithms, AI prompts, interfaces, and all components of the software are protected by copyright and intellectual property laws. All rights are reserved. No license to use these elements is granted.
The content you create in eatamame (meal descriptions, notes) remains your property. eatamame does not claim any intellectual property rights over your personal meal data.
Service Availability
eatamame is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee the App will be available without interruption, error-free, or completely secure. We may temporarily suspend the service for maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control.
Not Medical Advice
eatamame is a food education tool, not a medical device or healthcare service. Nothing in the App constitutes medical, dietary, clinical, or therapeutic advice. eatamame is not responsible for any decisions you make based on the App's content.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, eatamame shall not be liable for: inaccuracies in AI-generated results, loss of data or content, loss of profits, service interruptions, or indirect/consequential damages.
In any case, eatamame's total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim (or €10 if no subscription was active).
Third-Party Services
The App uses third-party services (Firebase, Google Gemini AI, RevenueCat, PostHog, Sentry, Loops). eatamame is not responsible for the availability, performance, or data protection practices of these services. See our Privacy Policy for details.
By you: You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete Account. Account deletion is permanent and causes immediate and complete deletion of all your data.
By eatamame: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account in the event of serious or repeated violations of these Terms, illegal use, abuse of the AI service, or fraudulent activities. We will notify you via email with reasons where possible.
Upon account deletion (by you or by eatamame), all personal data will be permanently and irreversibly deleted from our systems immediately.
eatamame reserves the right to add, modify, or remove features at any time; change the scope of the free trial; adjust AI usage limits; change subscription prices; or discontinue the service entirely.
Existing subscribers will be notified via email and in-app notification before any price changes or limit reductions take effect.
We may update these Terms from time to time. For substantial changes, we will notify you via email and in-app notification. For minor changes (editorial corrections), we will update only the "Last Updated" date.
Continued use of the App after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. If you do not agree to the new Terms, you must stop using the App and delete your account.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with Italian law. Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent court of Modena (MO), Italy, except where mandatory provisions of local law establish a different jurisdiction.
